Maximo Technical Specialist
Role Overview
The Maximo Technical Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining IBM Maximo 7.6.x and MAS 9.x solutions to support enterprise asset management initiatives. This role involves leading integrations, customizing applications, administering MAS environments on Red Hat OpenShift, and ensuring compliance with audit and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and configure IBM Maximo and MAS 9.x solutions to meet complex business requirements.
Implement best practices to optimize Maximo operations.
Customize applications, MBOs, workflows, escalations, and automation scripts (Java, Jython, Python).
Architect and implement integrations between Maximo/MAS and external systems.
Develop and maintain REST/SOAP web services, APIs, and middleware.
Manage data migration, transformation, and synchronization across enterprise and legacy systems.
Lead end-to-end IBM MAS implementation, configuration, and environment setup.
Define deployment pipelines and manage MAS services on Red Hat OpenShift.
Administer MAS instances including scaling, patching, upgrades, and monitoring.
Implement authentication mechanisms (SSO, OIDC/SAML, MFA) in collaboration with security teams.
Deploy, configure, and manage Maximo/MAS workloads in OpenShift clusters.
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize containerized workloads.
Write modular, reusable, and scalable code for Maximo extensions and automation scripts.
Perform root cause analysis and debug production issues across application, integration, and infra layers.
Develop utilities for monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting Maximo/MAS performance.
Deliver technical documentation including design specs, integration diagrams, and deployment guides.
Configure domains, security groups, applications, and conditional expressions.
Design and deploy BIRT/Cognos reports and dashboards.
Implement KPI Manager and Start Centers to enhance user productivity.
Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate development records.
Develop corrective action plans to address audit findings.
Support cross-functional teams in solution development and escalation resolution.
Conduct UAT, training, and handover of new configurations.
Engage stakeholders, including ADA Operations and IT.
Identify risks, issues, and dependencies with appropriate mitigation actions.
Drive improvements in asset management outcomes, operational reliability, and cost efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned by SME, Senior Manager, or Director.
Internal & External Interfaces
Internal: Site-based staff, Finance, HR, and relevant Sinyar functions.
External: Client Representatives, ADAC Operations, Asset Management & Finance Departments, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
IBM Certified Deployment Professional – Maximo / MAS.
Experience:
Minimum 7 years in IBM Maximo development, customization, and administration.
Technical Knowledge
Strong expertise in IBM Maximo 7.6.x and IBM MAS 9.x modules.
Development experience with Java, Python, Jython scripting.
Proficiency in OpenShift administration, container orchestration, and Kubernetes.
Hands-on with Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), REST/SOAP, and APIs.
Strong database skills (SQL, DB2, Oracle).
Knowledge of WebSphere, WebLogic, or Liberty application servers.
Experience with Maximo upgrades, patches, and fixes.
Debugging and performance optimization skills across application and infrastructure.
Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices.
Experience implementing SSO, OIDC, SAML, and MFA for Maximo/MAS.
Cloud deployment experience (Azure, AWS, GCP) for Maximo/MAS.
Knowledge of database tuning (Oracle, SQL Server, Db2).
Experience in Agile/DevOps environments with Jira, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.
